In comparing and contrasting Germany’s Education System to the U.S Education System, one would find both similarities and differences; however, one enormous difference is that tuition is free to the students in the Germany’s Public School System and higher educational institutions (Flippo, 1996). More importantly, Parks (2014) explained, that if an American wanted to be educated in Germany, the tuition would be free, but in order to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Germany, the American student would have to be knowledgeable enough to comprehend the German language, and having an equivalent educational background of a German Abitur ( e.g., university entry qualification) is required. To the American, this could be equal to the Advance Placement courses in the U.S. Based on research, Germany does not claim to have a â€Å"community college system† as do the U.S. (S. Caison personal communication, June 25, 2015). Nevertheless, the counterpart would be that of a German Facshule (e.g. technical) type college that focuses on Applied Science Degrees. It is different from the Germany’s traditional universities, because of its practical application that is parallel to the U.S. Applied Associate Science Degree Program in the community college’s system (S. Caison personal communication, June 25, 2015).
